A fun, enemies-to-lovers Christmas trope. Amy had a crush on Ryder when they were teenagers and felt humiliated after his rejection. Now years later into adulthood, she's recovering from another blow by an ex-boyfriend when she finds herself stranded in a cabin with Ryder. Things start to sizzle between these two and we learn the real reason behind Ryder's rejection. I always enjoy this author's hockey romances. I also love that she likes to break the barriers with girls in sports. Amy was a goo A fun, enemies-to-lovers Christmas trope. Amy Heller's life has just crashed and burned or at least that's the way it feels after she finds out not only that her boyfriend has been cheating on her but also that he's interviewed for the same job that she was hoping to get. So she decides to get away instead of spending Christmas with her family. She was in need of some alone time, but the universe had other plans for her. Ryder is a true workaholic but he takes time every Christmas to spend it with his family in GARLAND GROVE, and this year his business partner convinced him to take a couple of days and go to his families cabin since it is close to where he's going and he'll have a few days to unwind before the big family gathering. What neither of them expected is that the cabin already had an occupant. Amy and Ryder have a past, one that didn't end on good terms and left Amy hating him. I love that even though this cabin had two bedrooms Kelly Jamieson found a way to force them to be closer. This was a fun read, I really enjoyed the banter between Amy and Ryder and the chemistry was great. I will be honest and say that I wish this story was longer because I wanted more of them which is why I gave it four stars, I felt as if the story ended to soon and I'm wondering if that's because it's the first in the new series and they will pop up in other books, maybe? I hope at some point we are given an extended version or maybe a special epilogue for newsletter subscribers...something...anything. Amy is part of the HELLER BROTHERS Family and her brother Josh found his HEA in YOU HAD ME AT HOCKEY, so it's nice to see that she has finally gotten her HEA as well. You do not need to read any of the other books to enjoy this one, this is a complete standalone from them. If you enjoy Steamy Contemporary Romances, Enemies-to-Lovers Romances, Force Proximity Romances, or Sports Romances I would recommend this book to you. Happy Reading!!! When a friend offers a secluded cabin in the woods to decompress and nurse her wounds, Amy jumps at the chance. Alone time with wine, books, and bubble baths, away from holiday cheer sounds perfect. Unfortunately, a miscommunication has someone else showing up at a most awkward moment. And more unfortunately, it’s the man who broke her heart at sixteen. Looks like she’ll have to deal with it, though, since a nasty storm makes it impossible for to leave. Ryder has been focused on his business for the last few years putting his personal life and family on the back burner. Finally with his business thriving he’s set to take some down time, first at a remote cabin, then traveling to meet up with his family for Christmas. He loves spending time with his family on Christmas, they have so many lovely traditions (who doesn’t love an ugly sweater competition?!!) in a Winter Wonderland small town, but first he’s looking forward to unplugging and relaxing for a few days. Hate Me Under the Mistletoe was so much fun! I do enjoy a good enemies-to-lovers romance and I could totally understand why Amy was less than pleased with the situation when Ryan showed up. Not only did she want to be alone without any reminder of holiday festivities, but she especially didn’t want to spend it with her teenage crush she felt humiliated her. Ryan was a complete sweetheart and didn’t realize how his action impacted Amy. Even before they cleared things up it was hard for Amy to hold her grudge, because he was such a good guy. I loved that these two got stuck together. They needed the escape and the forced time together to sort things out. Cooking together, snowball fights and board games made for fun times that made me smile. Amy and Ryan had major chemistry and tension, even when Amy was being prickly, and things were super steamy! Hate Me Under the Mistletoe is the perfect short, sweet, and hot romance making me yearn for my own Winter Wonderland respite with family, friends, and love! I never tire of reading anything Kelly Jamieson puts out, for me she is an auto-buy, must read author and I was thrilled that Amy Heller of the famed Heller family was finally getting her own story and her love interest is her teenage crush and who helped her through a time that was hard, but that ended with some insensitive remarks she wasn’t supposed to overhear and Ryder Long became persona non grata in her mind. Now years later, Amy’s life has once again been turned upside down and she’s decided Christmas alone in her friend’s cabin is the perfect way to not celebrate, the last person she expected to walk in like he owned the place was Ryder. Hate Me Under the Mistletoe is a perfect enemies to lovers story filled with revelations, twists and turns, emotion, and more. Ryder catches Amy dyeing her hair topless and shaking her groove thing which makes her already surly attitude even worse. When she tells him she expects him to leave the next day he agrees but suddenly they are in the middle of a blizzard and trying to keep warm. The chemistry between them is evident and the air is cleared between them, they can’t seem to keep their hands, lips, and other body parts to themselves. What I really loved is Ryder didn’t judge Amy for anything going on in her life; in fact he tried to make her see that she was being harder on herself than she should and that despite feeling like she’d failed in many aspects of her life, she was successful in being a woman working in hockey. It was easy to see that Amy admired what Ryder had done in his life and appreciated that he followed a path that made him happy. I loved their long talks, the way they began to get to know each other as the adults they are now and the fact that once they talked about the past, they pretty much left it there; it wasn’t hashed out over and over. While this story moves at a brisk place, I felt that it had great character development, a captivating storyline, and a wonderful romance. I would have loved an epilogue following Amy’s fantastic career news, but I have hope we’ll see them again in a future book as secondary characters. Hate Me Under the Mistletoe was a wonderful romance set against the backdrop of a small town Christmas filled with family, memories, romance, and love! Review copy provided for a voluntary review.

It was cute and sexy, and it’s already something. It was kind of short, so the characters’ introductions were quick and to the point–there’s a lot of telling instead of showing to get the point across faster. Since it’s the first book in a series about the small town of Garland Grove, a few brand new characters are introduced whom we’ll see more in the next books. The author also brings back characters from other series, especially Amy’s family. And since Christmas spirit and family are at the heart of the story, Ryder’s family makes an appearance, even though they barely get any dialogue. Every line is meaningful though, and help with the story’s progress. The main couple though? They’re cute, and once they get it on, quite sexy too. The change from hate to… something else was quick though–maybe due to the book’s length. Originality isn’t the main quality of the book, but it’s fairly well written and Amy and Ryder are compelling enough that you want to read more about them. This short and sexy holiday romance with a tiny bit of Christmas magic will enchant you, no doubt. I love any story that is centred around Christmas; it’s a time for family and friends to get together and celebrate life. From the first chapter to the last I was fully invested in Ryder Long and Amy Heller’s story. Hate Me Under The Mistletoe was a well written, entertaining story that ticked all the boxes for me. Amy is fed up with life having just found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her and she has lost her job thanks to the women’s hockey league she belongs to folding. Escaping to a friends’ cabin she has no idea how that decision is about to change her life forever. Ryder too has escaped to the cabin for some much needed down time. Imagine their shock when they come face to face and even worse find themselves stranded together by a snowstorm. Amy and Ryder have history, although he has no idea what he did to make her so angry. The chemistry between them is intense and as they re connect it was obvious that feelings were re igniting. Hate Me Under The Mistletoe was full of so many feel good moments that my face ached from smiling so much. Could the miracle of the Christmas season give Ryder and Amy a second chance at happiness? One click and find out. I received a copy from the publisher thorough NetGalley.

I liked this book. The story is fun and the sparks ample. Amy and Ryder made a cute couple and their chemistry was incendiary. Plenty of emotion, tension and a bit of underlaying sweetness made this a book that grabbed my attention and melted my heart. I am electing to post a forthright review.

Ryder and Amy’s story is a story of chance and fate stepping in and bringing two unlikely people together. Stuck together in a cabin Ryder and Amy find themselves at odds but then a comprise is reached when things start getting worse! Amy is a headstrong, stubborn but independent woman while Ryder takes life at a totally different pace! The two bind over ice hockey and conversations by the fire but is there enough there for it to be more? A hilarious story with some great characters!

Loved the characters. I took one star because Amy was quite immature with her attitude towards Ryder. The last 10% of book was wonderful with Garland so magical. Loved Ryder!!!

She opts to spend the holidays alone at a friend's secluded mountain cabin. Unfortunately, it was also unknowingly loaned out to Ryder Long, who she cannot stand. Amy comes from hockey royalty. She is having a tough time. She just discovered her boyfriend was cheating on her and going after the same dream job with the Vancouver Vipers NHL team. Plus, the women’s hockey league she played in folded the year before. Ryder is a good guy. He is a workaholic. He started Green Earth Consulting a few years prior. He billeted with the Heller’s for two years when he played major junior hockey in Winnipeg. The two get snowed in at the cabin. They had some misunderstandings, which are revealed in this story. Ryder loves Christmas. He helps Amy heal and get into the Christmas spirit. HATE ME UNDER THE MISTLETOE is a heartwarming story that is full of Christmas cheer. I do recommend reading YOU HAD ME AT HOCKEY (Bears Hockey, #2). This is Amy’s brother’s Josh’s story. Events from that book are referenced in this book a few times. You could follow the story without it, but it is an excellent book and worth the read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

The book has a dual POV and each chapter indicates if we are following Amy or Ryder. The writing is easy to follow but bringing a mix of hard truths and laughs along the story. I couldn’t put the book down and finished it in few hours. The smut is hot and cute. The characters felt real, easy to connect with through the story. However, I found Amy’s behaviour a bit childish until we got to know more about her. Amy and Ryder met when they were teenagers and he supported her through a very difficult time. However, they ended their friendship in a bad way and with a big misunderstanding between them. 9 years later, they will end up trapped together in a small cottage, only a few days before Christmas as they were both trying to escape different things: Amy, disappointment and hurt and Ryder his workaholic habits. Snow made a heavy apparence and they found themselves in the middle of nowhere, without a way out to escape the unspoken events and the tension growing each day…oh and no electricity. I liked that Amy is a woman, in a very manly sports world, breaking the pattern and inspiring younger girls to fight for her dreams. As I mentioned before, I found her a bit childish but once you scratched the surface, we found a vulnerable, self conscious woman who has been fighting all her life and struggles to find herself worthy. She is a strong, funny, clever and sweet woman. Ryder was a horny 18 years old boy trying to be honourable and managing the situation poorly. Adult Ryder is funny, sexy, hardworking and a family man. And he loves Christmas! Together…they are fire and the banter between them is one of the best things about this book, really funny and hot. Let’s not forget that this is a Christmas inspired book and, therefore, we have cuteness, “aww moments” and the warm feeling that with love, all is possible. This book is perfect for a cold evening, on a comfy sofa with a blanket and hot chocolate as company. Totally recommend this book if you are in the mood for a cute romance, easy to read standalone book. I will be adding more Kelly’s books to my TBR

Short, tropey and sexy Christmas romance 4 stars I didn’t have the most auspicious start to the novels of Kelly Jamieson but how could I pass up this novel what with the cute premise, adorable cover and the fact that it’s a Christmas romance? And I’m glad I didn’t as this was a fun, quick and dirty snow storm of a romance. Amy’s not feeling Christmas this year while Ryder is all about the holiday. Add in the fact that these two knew each other as children and, well, they didn’t part on the best of terms. So who better to get accidentally double booked together in a remote cabin? And that’s before the snow starts to fall. *Giddily claps hands at the trapped by a snow storm trope!* Amy is first at the cabin and she’s looking to have a mope-fest of a Christmas after a series of personal blows. I understood her plans and her reasons behind them and she was a nice enough character. But as soon as Ryder got there, she turned into a bit of a brat. She eventually acknowledged this but to me, her reasons to hate Ryder - a man she hadn’t seen in about 10 years - was a bit flimsy. She got more likeable when she let her barriers down but she was never going to be my favourite. Ryder on the other hand, was such a sweetheart. He (understandably) was surprised by Amy’s reaction to him but he maintained his upbeat attitude and his love for all things Christmas. All he wanted to do was get to his family for Christmas and I was smitten with him. He was definitely a keeper, even before we realise he’s a hugely successful environmental consultant off saving the planet! I have to admit to being hugely disappointed when I found out there were two bedrooms in the cabin, but luckily there were many other ways our couple could stumble into a cheeky kiss. The mistletoe, the naked dancing, the bubble bath in the only bathroom, the naked massage… none of which get us there. So by the time we do get there, we’re treated to some sex that’s almost as hot as the cabin’s roaring fire. I did enjoy Ryder and Amy as a couple - especially towards the end where they really showed that they were perfect for each other. We were told rather than shown that the pair had electric chemistry but I did enjoy the lighter moments between the pair such as the cat videos and their competitive gaming. This is the 1st book in a multi-author Christmas series (Romancing the Rink) all focussed around the small town of Garland Grove and with an ice-hockey theme. As far as I can tell, the characters don’t overlap the different stories and each stands alone with its own HEA. Our heroine from this story is also part of the Heller family from Jamieson’s previous Heller Brothers series. You don’t need to have read any of those novels to understand this one, either. All in all, I really liked this short and tropey Christmas romance. It had a good feel and it was never a chore to read just a little bit more. It feels more cosy than Christmassy but I enjoyed it all the same. Like another reviewer said, I would have loved to see an epilogue since we didn’t quite reach the ‘I love you’ stage within the story as it was. But still it was 4 stars from me.

Let me start by saying any look into the Heller family is sure to be amazing. With that said Ryder is awesome and honorable. Amy Heller is justifiably hurt, angry and untrusting. What happens when she ends up with her first big crush from her teen years and discovers she might have been wrong. The author writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills. Authors Blurb: What happens under the mistletoe stays under the mistletoe… Amy’s life isn’t living up to the famous Heller family brand—her love life and her career and she just wants to be alone for Christmas. So she takes off to a friend’s secluded mountain cabin. Ho fu*king ho. Ryder’s workaholic tendencies have made him super successful in his business, but he hasn’t spent time with family for years. That’s all he wants this Christmas, plus a little down time at a cabin in the mountains. He loves Christmas and can’t wait for the family ugly sweater contest!  When Ryder walks in on Amy at an “awkward” moment, she can’t believe the man she’s hated since she was sixteen has shown up here. He has to leave. But Mother Nature has other ideas when a blizzard shuts down the entire region...  Amy thinks a good place for Ryder’s Christmas cheer is up his ass. Ryder thinks Amy’s grown up into a smokin’ hot babe. Christmas is all about giving, and he’s got a really big package for Amy. Maybe naughty is the new nice... This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic. Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

This book really is the perfect holiday read. And it sure doesn't hurt that it involves a younger generation of one of my all time favorite hockey families - the Hellers! She is having a really horrible start to her holiday season with some major betrayals from her boyfriend. The one she was planning to bring home for the holidays. Her family is definitely filled with hockey over achievers and a lot of happy couples. Losing out on that happy romance and potentially losing out on her dream job in the NHL leaves her feeling much more grinchlike than santa. When her friend allows her to use a family cabin for the holiday - she seizes the opportunity! Ryder is Amy's childhood crush - who left things badly with her. He billeted with the Hellers while playing junior hockey - during a difficult time in the family's life. He knew Amy had a crush on him - but being two years older and living with her family, he did not want to mess anything up. So he purposefully ignored the crush and dated other girls. This hurt Amy in a big way - and she is now very determined to hate Ryder in a major way. Their relationship development is really sweet and Ryder has definitely grown up a LOT since he and Amy last saw each other. The only thing I didn't love is how grumpy Amy was at the start. I totally understand she had a LOT to be unhappy about and just wanted to wallow in her self-pity (she's honest about it at least!) - but the way she treated Ryder was seriously childish and rude. It did give her a lot of room for growth tho - so there is that. This book does truly bring home the holiday feelings of family and love more than anything else. And the end really is just perfect. Overall I recommend it - and it definitely got me in the mood to read the other connected stories about Garland Grove! I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own!

I have long been a fan of the Heller family! I love how Kelly brings her series full circle, and we never lose touch with her families. Little does she know a long lost crush also plans on being at the same mountain cabin. Ryer is a workaholic, but loves his family and is looking forward to a little quiet time to rejuvenate before the holidays with his loud rowdy family. Ryder, a former hockey player, was once a billet player living with the Hellers when their lives were turned upside down. Amy had a HUGE crush on Ryder at the time, but he never looked at her twice….or did he. I literally squealed out loud when I read that Ryder was a billet player. I have been waiting on the edge of my seat for a story like this, and that fact that it comes from one of my all time favorite hockey romance authors is literally the icing on the cake for me. Kelly ALWAYS gets the hockey right and she did not disappoint on this one, friends. These two had instant chemistry and as a reader I wanted to push Amy right into Ryder’s arms. I thoroughly enjoyed this grinch/sunshine and role reversal in this story. And let me say, the setting was breathtaking….made me want to pack my family up and move to Vancouver! Once these two got out of their own way my kindle almost melted. You know Kelly can bring the steam, and she did. I loved this book and the look into the Heller family. Amy’s dad Tag was my favorite Heller, but don’t tell the others! I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series in this picturesque winter town that loves hockey as much as I do!

This was an enjoyable holiday read about two very lonely people who find each other. It was well written and starts off a bit slow but was so much fun to read as the story gets going. It stars Amy Heller, who is the sister to Josh Heller whose story is told in "You Had Me at Hockey" (You Had Me at Hockey — Kelly Jamieson). She has been hurt by her ex when he cheats and also tries to steal a job she is trying for. She decides to celebrate Christmas alone at a cabin in the mountains that a friend told her was empty. We also meet Ryder who ends up with a few extra days before Christmas and asks a friend of a friend if he can stay at the cabin. Thats how they end up at the same cabin during a freak snow storm. But Ryder and Amy are not strangers. He ended up living with her family in high school and Amy had a huge crush on him but he turned her down and hurt her badly. So she hates on him and he is happy to see her. Amy is the grumpy one in this story and Ryder adores everything about Christmas. It was fun watching him try and make her love Christmas and get to know her now as they both are grown up. This was a heart warming and fun romance where the female in the story does not have holiday spirit and the male does and I really enjoyed the writing and the characters in this story. I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

In this holiday Novella we get Amy Heller and Ryder Long. These two knew each other when they were younger as Ryder was a billet hockey player in the Heller household. Amy had a huge crush on him, and things didn’t exactly go the way she had hoped. Ryder had feelings for her, but because of the situation, he was unable to act on them and didn’t make the best decisions where she was concerned. Amy is at a turning point in her life, and things are just not working out for her in the way she hopes. In this holiday Novella we get Amy Heller and Ryder Long. Amy is at a turning point in her life, and things are just not working out for her in the way she hopes. It’s holiday season, and she is feeling exceptionally grumpy so she decides to bypass her family holidays because she just can’t handle them. Enter Ryder who is taking a break at this cabin in between meeting up with his family. He is ecstatic about Christmas and loves all things having to do with the holiday. These two butt heads a little bit at the beginning because Amy is one still a little bruised over what happened but at the same time, just unhappy with the way her life is trending. What follows is a case of close proximity but also the fact that they both have unrequited feelings for the other. I love the way this novella plays out, and the direction that it takes. While this isn’t a hockey story per say because Amy no longer plays only coaches, and Ryder no longer plays, it is set in the Heller world. Kelli Jamieson never ceases to give me a story that is well written and the characters are flushed out in a way that you keep wanting more. This is a perfect holiday story!

~4.5⭐Rating~ The last thing that Amy wants is to have to endure a bunch of happy happys with all of their smiles and over the top Christmas spirit after having not only her heart crushed but also taking a massive knock in her professional life, which is exactly how she finds herself heading to the mountains for a little alone time. So to say she definitely did not expect to be sharing the cabin with her childhood crush and enemy Ryder is definitely an understatement. If things were not bad enough did he have to be so damn chipper all the time? •• Hate Me Under The Mistletoe was the perfect enemies to lovers second chance romance mixed in with a good dash of Christmas cheer. I loved that this story moved at a fast pace but nothing felt rushed. •• Both main characters were so cute to follow, I loved that they had a past connection and that neither knew that they shared the same feelings. Gosh my heart went to Amy and what her ex did to her. Overall I really liked her as a lead character and I loved that she played such a big part in representing women in sports. •• However the real star of this boom has to be Ryder. Gosh I just loved this guy with all  of his Christmas cheer and happy vibes. Not only was he a nice person but he wanted to help save our planet. I really liked the way he handled the entire off handed way in which Amy treated him. But once these two figured their issues out were they perfect! •• This fast paced Christmas themed second chance, enemies to lovers romcom was the perfect little read to warm any romance lovers heart!

Terrific Holiday Romance. The author has given us a romantic, 2nd chance romance set in two amazing settings. The storyline is written to where I felt like I knew the characters and could feel their emotions right along with them. Finding out your boyfriend is cheating is bad enough but finding out right before the two of you are to fly home for the Christmas holidays, so the family can meet your guy, plus finding out he’s interviewed for the same job she was hoping to get is worse than devastating. At least it is for Amy. So she takes up her friend's offer to spend the holidays in a cabin in the mountains, by herself and drinking her ex out of her system. But that plan goes awry when Ryder shows up at the same cabin. Who’s Ryder? Well he’s her childhood crush who rejected her and she never recovered from. So she chooses to hate him rather than pine for him. Not only does he show up, sexier than ever, a blizzard keeps either of them from leaving. Ryder is full of Christmas spirit, disrupting her bah humbug pity party for one, and determined to cheer her up. After all, she’s grown up into a total babe. This story is a perfect blend of fun, sass, holiday cheer and romance. I highly recommend grabbing it up, finding a comfy reading spot and your favorite beverage and enjoying. You won’t be sorry you did. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars

This is a great holiday romance with a few great messages. I really enjoyed the character development of Amy Heller during the story. She experienced a horrible butt dialing situation from her current boyfriend that exposes some shocking blows just before the holidays. Amy reacts by deciding to retreat to a friend’s family cabin in rural BC to spend a week alone instead of going home to see her family. Ryder decides to take a few extra days off at a friend’s family cabin before joining his family This is a great holiday romance with a few great messages. Ryder decides to take a few extra days off at a friend’s family cabin before joining his family for Christmas at his family favorite resort. Ryder surprises Amy when he walks into the cabin as she’s pretty exposed and not expecting anyone least of all him to show up. Ryder lived with her family as a teenager when he played for a major juniors hockey team. A few days alone together in a cabin after a blizzard prevents Ryder from leaving gives them a chance to talk and discover the another perspective on what took place nine years ago. Ryder’s super Christmas cheer and desire to spend time with his family chips away at Amy’s grumpy state of mind. These two had enough of a connection from the teenage past when forced together as adults ignites feelings and passions, but is it just a fling or more?! This was a pretty fast paced read with lots of emotions, holiday cheer and a message. Plenty of steam scenes and a few laughs round out a really good read. I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Hate Me Under the Mistletoe is a short novella that is part of the Romancing the Rink collection. It was an easy and fast to read book that I easily read in one sitting. The characters were likable and easy to connect with. Even though they did not like each other due to their history, it was a low angst book. Ryder was confident and believed in Amy which helped her to see her own value. I love how well it all worked out for them. I look forward to the next book in the collection.
