This being my first time reading any works by 🌸🌸🌸Billie Bloom🌸🌸🌸, I will say that although there were some problem areas for me within this ARC, I did like the idea behind it and with some of the elements that made it nice! {Plus the cover too 🥰🥰🥰}! As always, please refer to the notice above if said topics are a no for you👏! Now, here is a summation of this novella up next!💪🧔🏻‍♂️ 🧔🏻‍♂️💪Thoughts In Summation💪🧔🏻‍♂️: 🧔🏻‍♂️💪Grayson Price🧔🏻‍♂️{Older~👔Astor Sports Agent👔} and Parker Miller🧔🏼‍♂️{Younger~🥅NHL Goalie🥅} have known each other for years since Parker’s 💲wealthy~millionaire family💲 accepted Grayson in from his tenure in foster care😢. After an athletic injury that changed the game for his life as a future professional NHL player, Grayson chose to go on to be a sports agent while Parker is the next hot~shot goalie to be picked with the NHL🏒🥅🏒🥅🏒. What I didn’t care for was: how annoying, bratty, and pushy Parker was within the read, did not feel a true love connection except more lust, and Grayson’s and Parker’s common sense at times. Again, this was short so I won’t say anymore about those likes/critics. 3.5 goalies' play stars AMAZING CHEMISTRY This was a nice novella. I liked the characters, especially Grayson. This was a short novella. Novella's are hard for me because I always feel like something is missing. They are so short typically that you can't get a good grasp on the characters and everything is really rushed. This was cute, if OTT most times. Things progressed in the speed of light and I simply didn't feel the connection between the MCs It needed a bit of polish and tightening up in some places, especially with it being a novella where alot of things happen.. The steam was a bit of a letdown too. This was cute, if OTT most times. THE RULEBREAKER was really fun! It starts out 3 years in the past, Parker is about to start college and he's recently discovered he's bisexual and that he's attracted to his older brother's best friend, Grayson, who is staying with the family while recovering from a career ending hockey injury. After a sexy one night stand things jump forward to Parker starting his senior year and Grayson is a sports agent who's company wants Parker as a client. I loved watching these two circle each other and how well Parker knew how to get under Grayson's skin. Parker is basically a gold retriever puppy when it comes to personality and I adored him; he's confident, exuberant, charming, and not afraid to be exactly who he is. While there's some brief tension from Grayson worrying how his best friend will react to Grayson dating Parker, it's pretty minimal. Overall, a no-angst, sexy novella and I'm really looking forward to reading more by this new author.

What an amazing debut! I really enjoyed this book! It was a short and sweet read with tons of steam and in a short period of time, I was able to connect with the characters like I would in a full-length novel. I still wish it was full length though!! I would've loved to see more into their story because it was just so cute! I'm super excited to read the rest of this series! This short novella was a nice introduction to Billie Bloom's world of sexy hockey players. There is a lot packed into this, and because it's short there is a lot that's missing with respect to the development of the relationship between the two MCs. My only quibble is one of the MCs says earlier in the book that he has never had the desire to top. I was like, yeah! But then he decides he wants to top by the end of the book. Meh. I don't know if it's because of the typical reader for MM romance (mostly straight women, it seems) or what, but it's so tiring that almost every couple I read about is versatile. That's just not the way it is in real life! So many guys are only tops or only bottoms. Being one or the other doesn't imply any kind of unbalance in the relationship, but I wonder if this is what many readers think. As if there can't be a true equal relationship unless they're both taking it up the ass. It's just a bit frustrating to have characters decide in the last ten pages to switch things up. Let those bottoms be bottoms, I say!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for Goodreads This was a quick , fun, steamy hockey romance novella. It has the best friends younger brother trope and a slight age gap. While I enjoyed this, I really think I would have loved it if it had been a full length novel. It was missing all the quality pinning and yearning that could have happened during the "fall out" ad the " make up" between Grayson and Parker. Instead, because it was a novella, it was paced way too fast. I am excited to read the next book! R 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for Goodreads This was a quick , fun, steamy hockey romance novella. Grayson and Parker are NHL-worthy hockey players who have been drawn to one another for years. But Grayson refuses to cross a boundary which would allow them to be together. Serendipitously they are thrown together and both have choices to make which will determine the future of their relationship. Billie Bloom has crafted a well-paced story with a satisfying HEA. The Rulebreaker was a quick, easy read, an entertaining start to a new series. I do love a best friend's brother/brother's best friend story. Grayson and Parker were fun characters and their romance was sweet. Grayson was hesitant, but Parker was very persistent in his pursuit, which was cute. I liked that there wasn't a lot of angst and drama between them, just a tiny bit of uncertainty from Grayson, considering what Parker's family meant to him and all they'd done for him. The best thing about this book is a very catching book cover. It caught my eye immediately but after reading the summary I decided to skip it. Even though both characters were hockey goalies (my kryptonite, basically) the summary sounded too immature and not very appealing. Sadly, my initial judgment proved to be correct. The book was too immature, the characters weren't really fleshed out and the story was too fast paced. Every possible obstacle to Parker and Grayson's relationship wasn't really an obstacle as Parker apparently could mow through anything with a sheer force of will and 21 year old enthusiasm and inexperience. In my experience this is not how real world works. But maybe it does but only for filthy rich young hot shots like Parker? I didn't feel any actual chemistry between the characters, Grayson considered Parker hot, Parker had a childhood crush on Grayson and that was the whole basis of their relationship. I was also thrown by their dynamics, and I don't mean top/bottom one, but the way Grayson did not seem to make any decisions himself instead of being pushed and pulled whichever way Parker wanted him to go. If this story wasn't so short I would have DNFed instead of finishing it, then again if it was longer and more effort put into both the story and characterization it might have been better. Themes: hockey goalies, career ending injuries, college/university, bisexual character, best friend's younger brother

This is a nice, quick read and introduction to the series. It’s the first book I’ve read from this author and it also happens to be the author's debut work. He has always had a crush on Parker and when Parker admits he’s bisexual, he decides that Grayson will be his. Parker now has everything Grayson should have had. Parker is an epic hockey goalie and bound for the NHL. He annoys me at times, mainly when he tries to get Parker. He has no idea about the adult world and has always been able to do and get anything he wants. He grew up rich and things come naturally to him, especially hockey. He goes after Grayson all guns blazing and won’t take no for an answer. They are amazing together though and especially in the bedroom. When they meet after 3 years things go off with a bang. The little. It of angst was bound to happen and it was resolved far too easy for me. Can it all happen so quickly and turn out so well too?! It’s a bit too short for me, they both deserve a longer story. It deserved to be made longer, not just a new cover! It is a great introduction to the series as we meet all the lovely men who are the stars of the next few books. There just wasn’t much of a story to it and it all happened very quickly. I am going to go on and read the rest of the series though, I need to see how the others get their happy endings. Fast, immature read with a sweet message. Grayson, a somewhat older and more mature man, has a career-ending injury on the ice just before he is supposed to leave for college on scholarship. His best friend, Cameron Miller's parents, have all but adopted him, and after he walks in on his boyfriend cheating, he moves in with them. Parker Miller, Cameron's younger brother, is all for Grayson moving in and soon makes his feeling for Grayson very clear. The first thing about this novella that hooked me was the sweet note on the dedication page: “Kendall, I finally did it, thanks to you. You continue to be my hero after all these years.” Sometimes, I don't think those external parts of the story receive enough credit. “The Rulebreaker” was a sweet story about two individuals from different backgrounds coming of age and finding their way to each other. I think the one negative that I could point out was although, for the most part, Grayson came off as a willing participant, Parker was kind of persistent, somewhat whiney, and annoying. I would recommend this to anyone that loves quick, not super explicit, romance reads of the LGBTQ variety. It's an adult read. A little diddy about a forbidden romance between a young man and his brothers best friend. It's got some cuteness about it, but also some sexiness. I find it kinda funny in the fact that the younger man (4-6 years younger) is the one who is being the aggressor between the two. The two end up becoming coach and player and all those secret desires come crashing down as they get closer. This is a novella and reads quickly. The story moves along quickly as well, yet doesn't really feel rushed. There is some sexual content which may be more suitable for mature readers. The characters are a mix of fun and serious, spontaneous and cautious. (I'll let you guess who is what.) ;) Just a good little fun read, perfect for when you are in-between novels.

I wanted to see more interaction between Parker and Gray because they were apart more than they were together and suddenly they were all over each other and the book ended. I did really like them as a couple but this was just lacking something. I have also read The Heartbreaker (Book 2) and they feature in that a bit as the timeline in both books is somewhat concurrent. The Heartbreaker is longer and with so much more steam, connection and love. If you've read this and enjoyed it, definitely go on with the series. Chase and Luca are beautiful.

Now before I get started I do realize this is a novella and a start to a series. I liked Grayson and how he tried to hold his own against Parker.. I do wish we had gotten more of his backstory and how he came to be apart of the family. I also realize how young Parker is and I found it kinda hard to believe that they had never really had any contact or went to one of his games before.. I know Grayson had his own hockey games and college classes going on. In my opinion, despite the small amount of Now before I get started I do realize this is a novella and a start to a series. In my opinion, despite the small amount of years that had passed, Parker didn't really mature and I'm not sure what the attraction was for Grayson. I don't mean to tear this author apart but I really wished this would have been a full novel instead of a novella. It had so much potential to be great but it was still good. Oh and this is more of a 3.5 star rating.. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

4 stars Really good debut novella! I have really enjoyed this shortie by this new-to-me author. Parker is a bit of an acquired taste. He comes across as an entitled, rich kid who has never been told no. However he is also so freaking cute and sure of himself and what he wants. And what he wants is Greyson! And Greyson, who has had a crush himself on his best friend's brother for the longest time, also has a hard time saying no to Parker. I loved that he tried to be the "adult" one and try to make 4 stars Really good debut novella! I have really enjoyed this shortie by this new-to-me author. Parker is a bit of an acquired taste. I loved that he tried to be the "adult" one and try to make the right decision, but when it's written in the start that you belong to each other, it's just futile to resist. Greyson, Parker and Cameron (Parker's brother and Greyson's BFF) go into a partnership and create a rep agency - which I am hoping this is how the rest of the books in the series interconnect with each other (I don't know because I avoid reading next book teasers)

The ending to their story is very satisfying and heart-warming. There is a lot of backstory to this short novella and a lot of steamy scenes in it as well. Very well rounded story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
